Comparison of taekwondo and football on the child's development
Abstract
Motor development is the maturation process of motor control on different muscles of the body; it enables the good functioning of motor actions essential to daily life. The jump, run, kick are some gross motor skills related to the motor development of lower limbs, much used as in football as in taekwondo. This article aimed to compare the motor development skills of the lower limbs in children practicing football in relation to Taekwondo. Were selected 20 children from 11 to 13 years old, with 1 or 2 years that they were practicing football. For the data collection was used part of the Gross Motor Test Development and Bruininsky. To identify practical opportunities that each group had in their motor development, it was applied a socioeconomic questionnaire. The results found could say that for this group, socioeconomic status is equivalent and that children who practiced taekwondo had a better motor development skills of the lower limbs when compared to children who practiced football.
