Football Schools: a research about the coaches and the used methodology in schools football from the cities of the northern coast of Rio Grande do Sul

Abstract

One of the reasons for the constant development of football schools in the North coast of Rio Grande do Sul is the growth of the cities, so the places that used to be properly to practice football like wastelands house’s garden and streets are getting reduced. The cities development also it causes drugs and violence increase, so parents can make sure their children are safe when they are at a school football. Another reason is the power of mass media over children using football players trying to influence them. This research aims to know which methodology is used at football schools as the concern about coaches training. This research was made with seven football coaches of three different cities whom each on answered seven questions. Interviewed coaches, 85.71 % have academic training, however 57.14 % of them do not have expertise on training, perhaps due to lack of experience, since most of the respondents, 57.14 % exercised the profession for a maximum three years. The purpose of the schools through the training focuses on the social inclusion of pupils, showing a rate of 57.14 %, according to the coaches. Most coaches follows the integrated methodology of training ( 57.14 % ) , however as the decision on the methodology to beused , 42.86 % said it is a coach's decision, 42.86 % reported that there is a joint decision between the management and coach. Regarding the importance of the better use on the methodology applied, 100 % of the coaches responded that it is essential to haveknowledge about your area of expertise
