Comparison of heart rate response in small games in football with different team composition criteria
Keywords:
Football, Small games, Heart rateAbstract
This study aimed to compare the heart rate of soccer players during small-sided games played with teams composed of athletes from the same position (e.g. three defenders) or athletes from different positions (e.g. a defender, a midfielder and a forward in each team). Twelve U-12 players (14,43 ± 0,16 years), from a soccer club from Paraná¡, were chosen to be part of this study based on their positional roles (4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 4 forwards). During the first week, it was realized the test used as team composition criteria. In the second week, small-sided games were played in the two different protocols. Data were analyzed by a paired t test, and the software SPSS 20.0 was used to all analysis. The level of significance was set at 0.05. Results showed no difference regarding heart rate between protocols. For this reason, it is possible to conclude that team composition criteria, based on players' playing position, do not affect athletes hear rate during small-sided games.
