Abstract

The aim of this study was to verify the intensity of two matches throughout the heart rate (HR), considering the time of permanency of the players in court and perceived exertion (RPE) after the game. Ten professional male futsal players (age 28,4 ± 3,8 years, weight 79,3 ± 9,4 kg, height 176,7 ± 0,5 cm, fat % 11,6 ± 2 %, average distance roamed Yo-Yo intermittent recovery test level 1 of 1388 ± 291 meters. Two friendly matches were monitored during the preparatory period before the team played "Liga Gaucha 1". The intensity of the work average heart rate was 89 ± 3,6 % HRmax and RPE de 8,32 ± 1,3; knowing that the athletes were between 92,4 ± 7,6 % of the time in above 80-100% HRmax) during the games. The intensity in the first game was higher than the second game (92 ± 1,1 x 86 ± 2,2 % HRmax, p<0,001) and RPE  8,6 ± 1 x 8,05 ± 1,05 (p<0,001), and the team was at a disadvantage on the scored in the first game. Futsal is an intermitentt sport that requires high physhical demands, from athletes, as the intensities of the analyzed matches were high. The intensity of the game seems to be higher when the team is at disadvantage on the scored.
