Physical fitness of football choice athletes in a city of the west center of Minas Gerais
Abstract
Introduction: Physical assessment is an important process in sports training or in the prescription of physical exercises for health. Through the evaluation, it is possible to identify the necessary skills of each athlete, including in field soccer, the intensity and frequency of these exercises to work within the individual training zone. General Objective: to evaluate the physical fitness of male athletes, from Soccer Schools, between 7 and 15 years old. Methodology: There were 40 male participants from a soccer school, between 7 and 15 years old. The consent form was sent to the parents and the consent form to the athletes to participate in the research, describing the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The study was quantitative, observational and cross-sectional. approved by the Ethics Committee in Research Involving Humans (CEPH) of the Centro Universitário de Formiga - UNIFOR-MG. The tests of BMI (Body Mass Index), flexibility, 20 meters speed, horizontal high, medicine ball throw, abdominal and square agility tests were applied. Results: Statistically significant correlations were observed between Practice Time and the Horizontal Jump test (r -0.40 p 0.01), and the 20-meter speed test (r -0.43 p 0.00), between age and the horizontal jump test (r -0.50 p 0.00), and the Medicine Ball Throw test (r 0.32 p 0.04), also between age and the Agility test of the Square (r -0.34 p 0.02), age and time obtained in the 20-meter speed test (r -0.80 p 0.00), in the other tests also had significant correlations. Conclusion: Therefore, it is noted that there is a direct relationship between performance among most physical fitness tests, especially those involving lower limb strength/power. The time of practice in soccer seems to have little relation with the performance in the tests.
