Characterization of footvolley game actions in the elite men's team in Brazil
Abstract
Footvolley originated in Brazil, and since then the sport has spread throughout the world. Game analysis makes it possible to identify aspects that allow coaches and athletes to understand determining factors for increasing sports performance. This study aims to describe and characterize the game actions of professional footvolley athletes. A multidimensional nomothetic notational analysis was performed. 15 games from the “male professional” category were analyzed, using the VLC media player 3.0.8 software. The study variables were: set played, number of touches, type of attack, attack zone, result of the attack and effect of the serve. The chi-square test of independence and the chi-square test of adherence were calculated. The main results were: most matches do not have a third set; teams have approximately the same number of shares; pairs mostly use three touches; head attacks and shark attacks are the most used. The main evidence shows that the shark attack is the most effective, followed by the head attack. Using 3 touches to carry out the attack is the most effective, as their use allows the duo to attack in better conditions. At the Brazilian professional level, the shark attack is the most effective attack, the best region to carry out the attack is the one closest to the net and using 3 touches to carry out the attack also makes it more effective.
