Abstract

Background: Multivariate intrinsic factors corroborate the identification of the biomechanical profile of female athletes as a complex and system, which makes it necessary to identify this profile to foster better prevention and treatment strategies for sports-related injuries. Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate the biomechanical profile of female football and indoor football athletes from the Federal District, Brazil. Methods: It was conducted in a cross-sectional study for the purpose of describing its biomechanical characteristics through the Lunge Test, isometric strength of the middle gluteus, isokinetic muscle performance, Y Balance Test and core stability tests. Results: 94 athletes participated in the study, among which 63 (67%) were indoor football players and 31 (33%) were football players. There were no statistical differences between the members for the Lunge Test, isometric strength of the gluteus medius, peak torque of the quadriceps and for the anterior and posteromedial directions of the Y Balance Test. On the other hand, there were statistical differences between the ROM of internal rotation of the hip (p=0.02), peak torque of the hamstrings (p<0.001), H/Q ratio (p=0.02) and for the posterolateral direction of the Y Balance Test (p<0.001). Conclusion: The evaluated football and futsal athletes are within the ideal standards described in the literature for core stability and Y Balance Test. The other parameters evaluated are below ideal or indicate a state of alert for risk of injury, according to current studies on the subject.
